What this site knows about you

Almost nothing, and that is a design decision rather than a promise. There is no account, no newsletter, no form and no comment box anywhere on Stackrung.

No collection, because there is nothing to collect with

Stackrung has no sign-up, no login, no newsletter, no download gate, no quote form and no comment section. There is nowhere on this site to type your name or email address, so there is no list you can be added to.

The only way we learn your email address is if you choose to write to us. If you do, we keep the message while we deal with it — a correction, usually — and we do not add you to anything, because there is nothing to add you to.

What your browser sends anyway

Visiting any website involves your browser sending an IP address, a user-agent string and the page requested, and our hosting keeps ordinary server logs of that for a short period for security and diagnostics. That is the mechanics of the web rather than a choice we made.

We do not set advertising cookies and we do not run third-party ad scripts on these pages.

Some links to training providers are paid placements. Following one takes you to that provider’s site, which will apply its own cookies and its own privacy policy, and which may record that you arrived from here — that is how the commission is attributed.

We never see your name, your email address or what you bought. We see counts. If you would rather not be counted, type the provider’s address into your browser directly; the recommendation on the page is the same either way, and how this site earns explains why.

Children

Nothing here is aimed at children. These pages are about professional certification exams sat by working adults, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.

Changes, and how to ask

Any edit to this page moves the date at the top of it. Questions about anything on it go to [email protected], and the contact page says what else that address is for.
